PSJA Early College High School Athlete Signs to Mount Marty University

SAN JUAN, TX– Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and mentors PSJA Early College High School (ECHS) senior Osiel Cantu signed a National Letter of Intent to run Track and Field for Mount Marty University (MMU) on June 4, 2024. 
 
Marking a significant milestone in Cantu’s athletic and academic career, he has officially committed to the MMU Track and Field team, pledging to contribute to the ongoing success of both the program and the university. 
 
Throughout his time as a PSJA ECHS Bear, Cantu has made significant contributions to the athletics program, earning numerous accolades in track and field, including being a 3x Regional Qualifier, 2x District Champion, and Area Champion. 
 

Cantu would like to extend his heartfelt thanks to Oscar Torres, Eric Delgado, Kenneth Renegar, and the numerous coaches who have supported and helped him reach his goals, stating “None of this would be possible if it weren’t for their contributions to my success.” 
 
“I would like to also thank my teammates, my friends, and my family who have played a big role in helping and supporting me along the way of my track career,” said Cantu. “As I sign today, I give all glory to God for giving me this opportunity and blessing me with many years of success and happiness.”
